Election 2020: The Sunshine State

Political debate in America in 2020 has been ugly, accusatory, and extreme. As we enter the last 50 days of the US election campaign, it can seem like the entire nation is resorting to irrational behaviour. There is no longer any civilised forum to debate or negotiate differences.

We headed for Florida, which always seems to be the centre of attention in presidential races, to try to understand how the 2020 election will be decided. Will it be an election about Covid and competence, law and order or racial justice? Is it going to be a referendum on the character of Donald Trump or just further evidence of a hopelessly divided nation? And if there is a winner on November the third, will half of the United States be in the mood to accept the result?
